Which one should you buy?

- For an inground pool with walls to clean: If the pool has walls that need attention, the VINGLI listing is the only one here whose title says it climbs walls, making it a direct match for that need. See pick 4
- For a first pool with a tight budget: For a first pool, a suction-side cleaner that names inground pools and keeps the price low is a practical starting point. The U.S. Pool Supply Octopus is such a listing. See pick 5
- For an inground pool with leaves from nearby trees: A suction-side cleaner that connects to the pool's pump can handle debris, but the title does not state leaf capacity. Check the maker's page for debris handling. See pick 2

How we picked
This guide covers 8 suction-side pool cleaners whose titles name inground pools. The shortlist was built from the pool file using the rule: suction-side listings whose title names inground pools. Each pick is compared on the details stated in its listing title: type, pool type, cordless, and wall climbing. The ordering rule ranks picks first by whether the title states a type (all do here), then by the number of other details stated (pool type, cordless, wall climbing), then by the order in the pool file. Live prices are shown on the page for each listing. One listing, a Hayward Navigator Pro head only, was left out because it is a part, not a complete cleaner.
How to choose
Suction-side type in the title
All 8 picks here have titles that state suction-side type. A suction-side cleaner runs on the pool's pump through a skimmer or a suction line, so it does not need its own motor. The reader checks the pump and fittings in the maker's manual.
Inground pool type named
Every listing in this shortlist names inground pools in its title. This means the seller states the cleaner is for inground pools, but the title does not state a specific pool size or shape. For fit questions, the maker's page is the place to check.
Wall climbing as a title claim
Only the VINGLI listing states wall climbing. If wall cleaning is a priority, that pick stands out. The other 7 picks do not state wall climbing, so that feature is not confirmed for them.
Cordless or cord not stated
None of the titles in this shortlist state cordless or battery power. Since suction-side cleaners typically connect to the pool's pump, the cord or battery question may not apply, but the titles do not confirm it. The maker's manual is the source for such details.
Pump, hose and fittings as manual questions
The titles here do not state which pump or hose fittings are needed. Suction-side cleaners work with the pool's pump, but the exact requirements vary. The reader should consult the maker's manual for pump compatibility and hose setup.
What this guide leaves out (and why)
This guide does not cover surfaces, filter type, run time, or cleaning results because the catalogue does not state them. The Pool and Hot Tub Alliance standards pages and the maker's manual are where to read about pool equipment and water care.
Questions
What does a suction-side pool cleaner do?
A suction-side pool cleaner connects to the pool's pump through a skimmer or a suction line, using the pump's suction to move and collect debris. The titles in this guide state suction-side type, but the exact pump requirements are not stated. Check the maker's manual for your pool's setup.
Do these cleaners work with any inground pool?
The titles state inground pool type, but they do not state pool size, shape, or surface. Fit depends on the pool's dimensions and the pump system. The maker's page is the place to confirm compatibility with a specific pool.
Which pick states wall climbing?
The VINGLI suction-side pool cleaner is the only listing in this shortlist whose title states wall climbing. The other 7 picks do not mention wall climbing, so that feature is not confirmed for them. If wall cleaning is important, the VINGLI is the direct match.
Does this guide cover surfaces, run time, safety in the water or water care?
No. The catalogue has no data on surfaces, run time, electrical safety, or water chemistry. This guide compares only the details stated in each listing title: type, pool type, cordless, and wall climbing. For those other topics, read the maker's manual and the official pages in the sources, such as the WHO guidelines and the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance standards.
How are these picks ordered?
The picks are ordered first by whether the title states a type, then by the number of other details stated (pool type, cordless, wall climbing), then by the order in the pool file. All 8 picks state type and pool type, so the order follows the pool file order, except the VINGLI which has an extra detail and ranks higher.
